All votes at the OCB Gathering and MSF Belgium GA will take place electronically, regardless if you are attending in person in Brussels or online from our missions and around the world.
MEMBERSHIP
To be able to vote you have to be a member of one of the OCB Section.
If you are a member of MSF in Belgium, it is critical that you have paid your membership fee by the deadline of May 24 in order to activate your voting rights, as we will not take membership payments in person at the Gathering.
We will be using the MSF eVoting system: https://voting.msf.org for all decisions, motions and elections.
CREDENTIALS
If you haven’t used this system for another MSF GA, you will receive your credentials by email between May 27 and May 30, from the email address: MSF eVoting System [email protected] (! Do save or white list this email as we will remind you of closing votes by email during the OCB Gathering !). If you already voted at another MSF GA this year, then you can use the credentials initially received then.
We ask everyone to please answer the first vote on thursday May 30, so that we can help you, should you experience some issues. You can reach out to Carole at [email protected] or Whatsapp # +352 621 434 439 if you experience some trouble when trying to vote or connect to the voting system.
Make sure you are logging using the same email address as referred to in your credential email, and that you are using Chrome, Firefox, Safari or Opera browsers (but not Internet Explorer nor Edge).
VOTE SCHEDULE
Most votes will open early from Friday May 31 - 09:00 CEST, including the accountability decisions, the MSF Belgium and OCB Board elections, the motions.
Most votes will close towards the end of the OCB Gathering on Saturday 1 June around 16:00 CEST, with the exception of the Motions votes that will each close after their respective motion has been presented and discussed. We will then close the motion vote, and show the instant results before moving to the next motion.
PROXIES
If you cannot follow the OCB Gathering programme live (in person or online), you have the option to assign a proxy to a fellow MSFer who can then vote on your behalf. In this case, make sure that the person you chose is a member in the MSF B asso like you, is ready and happy to cast your votes on your behalf, and does not yet have 4 proxies, which is the maximum a member can hold. You can assign your proxy in the voting system ahead or during the event, and select from the list of members still having some proxy allocations in the system. Note that you will have to assing the proxy for both the OCB Gathering accountability + the OCB Gathering Election events, and same again for the MSF Belgium GA + election events, so up to 4 times so that all votes are covered.
TUTORIAL
You can find some tutorial presentations and video on the home page of the MSF eVoting system to answer questions you might have…
But fear not, the system is user-friendly and as long as you have an email address, internet connection and a (charged) device to connect to the web, you are all set! Consider bringing along your charger if your smartphone/tablet/laptop tends to lose energy faster than you…
So check out the candidates profile, the various motions and accountability content that is being posted on Asimov up to the OCB gathering and MSF B GA and get ready to vote and express yourself!
All OCB partner sections voting members have voting rights for the OCB Gathering for the accountability decisions and the OCB Board elections. This means that if you are a 2024 paying/voting member of MSF Brazil, Denmark, Hong Kong, Italy, Luxembourg, Norway, Southern Africa and Sweden, you automatically have voting rights at the OCB Gathering (but you do not have voting rights at the MSF Belgium GA, unless you are a member in both associations).
All MSF Belgium associative members having paid their 2024 membership fee either directly on Asimov, or through their FinCo in the field, have voting rights at both the MSF Belgium GA and the OCB Gathering for all decisions and both Boards elections.
Should you have paid your 2024 membership but have not received a message encouraging you to place the first vote by May 30, then we might not have received notification of your payment. If this is your case, then please send us ASAP an email to [email protected] with a proof of your payment. Help us fix the issues by reaching out to us early.
Voting opens on Friday May 31 at 09:00 CEST. They close on Saturday June 1 at 16:00 CEST, except for motions which will be voted on instantly on Saturday June 1 from 16:15 to 18:15 CEST.
For an informed vote, we strongly recommend that you vote after following the presentations and participating in the discussions, or opt for proxy voting!
